View from the Top

I recently photographed a wedding at the Columbia Club and wanted to share the views from the top on a very foggy day.

Kyle + Rickie South Sound Manor Wedding | Tumwater, WA

Kyle and Rickie’s wedding was celebrated on a very sunny day on the last week of June.  I began by meeting Rickie at the Phoenix Inn Suites in Olympia where she and her ladies were busy getting ready for the day.  The unveiling was staged at the Capitol Building, where we also did most of the bridal session.  The bridal party met us at the steps and we finished the very entertaining session and headed out for the South Sound Wedding Manor.  Their wedding was short and sweet and then the party began!  Congratulations Kyle and Rickie!

Summer and Jared | First Day of Summer Wedding | Seattle, WA

Summer and Jared’s wedding was on the 21st of June, the very first day of summer.  This also was the last of a three day wedding weekend for me.  So powered by Red Bull and the excitement of seeing my friends get married, I started out with Jared and his groomsmen.   We began the shoot at Kerry park and ended the session with a game of soccer.  After that I headed out to the Arctic Club downtown where Summer and her ladies were already getting their hair and make done up.  We used the whole building in our photo shoot and jumped into a limo that took us to the Canal by the Ballard locks.  There was a lot of anticipation in the air since Jared and Summer chose not to see each other before hand.   You could tell that Jared couldn’t wait to see his bride and looked on as Summer, escorted by her mother, walked down the isle to be presented to her husband to be.  The backdrop of the wedding ceremony looked out to the Ballard Locks which connect Lake Union to the Puget Sound.  After the ceremony, family pictures were taken and then Jared and Summer finally got some time to enjoy each other as we found time to snap a few  photos of the two of them.  Luckily it was the longest day of the year, usually I won’t suggest waiting til 7 or 8ish to do photos.  The reception was great fun.  Lots of laughter and celebration and of course dancing:).  Cheers!!

Nighttime on the Roof

So my condo building went through a huge assessment and for a year, Shawn and I’ve been couped up in our condo behind tents and scaffolding and lots and lots of builders everyday making lots of noise.  As the building work is finishing up, the rooftop was once again opened and tonight I went up for the first time in over 14 months.  This is a view of Seattle that many do not see so I thought I’d share with you what I see from the rooftop of my building.

Jes + Nick Pike Place After Hours | Seattle Engagement Session

Jes and Nick decided on having their engagement session at Pike Place, but after hours since during the summertime the place gets packed with lots of visitors.  So when everybody left and the shops all closed, that was when we strolled up and down Post Alley.  There was a few places that stayed open, like the ice cream shop and since Nick has a sweet tooth we had to stop by:).  I’m so glad that summer has decided to descend upon Seattle, it’s always nice not having to guess whether or not the weather will cooperate.
