Erin and Alex are from Texas and their wedding day was in mid-April at Ray’s Boathouse in Ballard.  Texans are known to be friendly and when my wife and I visited Dallas/Fort Worth for our 2nd anniversary we experienced that friendliness first hand.  I don’t remember being called sweetie pie and honey by complete strangers ever until I walked the roads of Fort Worth.  When I met Alex and Erin after they landed in Seattle, I felt that friendliness and was immediately transported to the same feeling I had when I visited Texas and it continued on through their wedding day ~ their family was sooooo nice!  There was a lot of tears, smiles, and laughter and you could totally feel the excitement the entire day, especially during the ceremony officiated by Pat of A Heavenly Ceremony, and on through the evening.  Congratulations Alex and Erin.  Thank you for letting me and Vera be a part of your wedding day!  Cheers!

This Mother’s Day Weekend, Ballet Northwest presents a mix repertoire at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Olympia, WA.  Here are a few images from the three ballet’s that are being performed, including images from this morning’s full house of many elementary school kids from around the Olympia area that had the opportunity to watch BNW perform Carnival of the Animals to Camille Saint Saens score.  A lot of the dancers also got a chance to answer questions that the school kids had during the answer/question time after the mini performance.  Enjoy, and to the dancers at BNW, have a great performance this weekend!

I met up with Renu and Omar on a hazy lazy Sunday in Seattle.  We ended up going to a few spots around Seattle, beginning at Volunteer Park and ending at the SPU campus.  Along the way we spent a lot of time trying to find parking and of course hiking around the busyness of tourist season.  A little mixture of India and Peru will be the theme of their wedding later this month and I’m totally excited for what they’ve told me so far about the cultural influences that they are including in their wedding ceremony and reception!  Looking forward to your big day!

Andrew and Sabrina’s wedding in the beginning of April was my second straight Grand Holiday Ballroom Wedding.  What was unique about them was I had not met them until a few days before their wedding.  Andrew had just returned from serving overseas.  I began the morning meeting up with Andrew first and photographed around Chehalis with his groomsmen.  Afterwards I headed up to Olympia to meet up with Sabrina and her ladies.  The couple chose not to see each other before hand so right after the wedding we dashed outside for a few portraits with their bridal party, family, and of course just the two of them.  After the fun reception DJ’d by Chris of Landmark Sound, I met Andrew and Sabrina at the Four Seasons where we spent a little time winding down the day with some photos at the hotel lobby.  Thanks so much you guys for having me at your wedding and congratulations!

Meet Ronald + Astrid!  They approached me last year about doing an engagement session of them around Astrid’s beloved city of Seattle.  This was definitely one of my longest engagement sessions yet, but I definitely had a great time.  We began at Pike Place Market in the morning at their favorite breakfast nook, Le Panier.  After some great coffee and pastries, we headed down post alley and took in the sights and of course the smells of the fish market.  We also got yelled at to purchase items that we decided to use as props, and Astrid and Ronald had a near stabbing experience with one of the fruit vendors, it did make for a great photo.  After Pike Place, we hunted for cherry blossoms as they were in season.  So we ended up at UW’s Quad, just in time to be rained on!!!  Seattle + Cherry Blossom Season = Lots of Rain:).  A few more locations afterwards and then lunch at U Village’s Boom Noodle.  Ramen break.  Finally the sun peaked out from under the rain clouds and we finished the day at Kerry Park.  Thanks Ron + Astrid for the fun day and congratulations on your wedding later this year.  Cheers!

Maggie + Jason met me a few Sundays ago for an afternoon-evening shoot around Seattle.  We started off at the Sculpture park, where they met me just when the sun left.  We were a little disappointed, but as soon as we started and the first smiles followed by laughter, we soon forgot about the sun.  You guys were awesome and I truly enjoyed the afternoon with you all around Seattle!  Looking forward to your wedding day in August.  Cheers!

Janna and Jack’s wedding last month is my first Orange County, California wedding of the year.  I will be back a couple more times before the year is over so if you’re interested in a session or wedding I’m available, just let me know.

We began the morning with Jack and Janna’s hotel where Janna and her girls were getting ready in one room and Jack and his fellas were also getting ready in another.  A bit of hairspray here, getting the dress on there, and of course a shot of something at the bar downstairs and Jack + Janna were ready to see each other for the first time.  This took place at the Rose of Sharon Chapel at Biola University where they were to be wed later that afternoon.  Jack and Janna both graduated from Biola, as well as many of their bridesmaids and groomsmen.

I had a great time hanging out with them during the pre-ceremony session at Biola’s campus as well as Westbridge Golf Club where the reception was going to be.  The ceremony and reception was so much fun and memorable for everyone!  I don’t think I saw anybody without a smile the entire day.  In the evening right before the reception ended, we had a chance to go out for some night shots and well, almost got drenched, but you can jump to the post that I explained the entire comedic play by play!  Congratulations Jack + Janna! Maligayang bati sa inyong kasal!
