Hello! So I’m very excited to show you the first contest winner’s photo session. If you didn’t know, I had a contest on Valentine’s day where a couple can enter a story of a ROMANTIC OR CREATIVE DATE. At the end of the contest, I get to pick 2 winners and give them a free couples session. Below is an excerpt of Salar and Jennifer’s entry.
It had been about a year into our relationship, and I had not seen Jennifer for three full months. She was on a work assignment in Birmingham, England all winter long. We missed our first Valentine’s Day together, and Skype was our only option for keeping in touch.
Jennifer was planning to return home a month later, but we couldn’t wait. We booked flights (me from Seattle and Jennifer from London) to meet in Roma, Italy. After a 14-hour flight and a 2-hour confusing trek on Rome’s public transportation system, I finally got to squeeze Jennifer in my arms after three months of being apart.
That first evening, fully jet-lagged, we went to the central opera house in Rome to watch a masterful performance of “Tosca”, one of Puccini’s greatest operas. Three standing ovations later, we were sitting across from each other in a beautiful restaurant sharing a glass of vino rosso in the heart of The Eternal City. The rest of the trip was filled with once-in-a-lifetime experiences: a tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum, Easter morning with the Pope, a visit to the city of Romeo and Juliet, and a gondola ride throughout the canals of Venice.
We chose a few locations for their session to mimic as best we can European Architecture: The Fairmont Olympic Hotel and St. James’ Cathedral in Capitol Hill. Thanks guys for entering the contest!
