I’m back from India! I brought home a lot of great stories (including almost being pick-pocketed, and seeing a hawk fly to a palm tree with a snake in it’s talons), awesome images, a sprained ankle, jet lag, and suddenly my tongue can’t taste anything that doesn’t have chili powder in great quantities in the recipe. I’m super happy to be back to see my wife and son and I’ve got a lot of weddings to blog about. Lets start out with Ryan + Jessica.
Their wedding was a 1920s themed wedding. So when we were planning for it, I suggested the Sorrento Hotel be the location that Jessica and her ladies got ready. The low light and vintage furniture made it a great backdrop for a 20s themed photo session, but at the same time it was a hard location to shoot, because it was very dark:). Despite the low light challenge, we got some great images, you two were born 20s models! During the shoot in the Sorrento, I made the comment that it would’ve been awesome to have had a cigar as a prop for Ryan, and not 5 minutes later, Kirk (the best man) had gone out to the store and picked up a pair of Partagas’ for the session (that’s a best man!) The Lake Union Cafe was their venue of choice and the decorations definitely created a feel of a past era. Loved every minute of your wedding you two! Congrats.
