9.29.12. My last wedding in September. Ling Ling and Jim were crazy in love. I could tell the moment I met them, that there was mutual respect; he adored her, and she is honored. Vera and I met up with them at Blue Ribbon Cooking on East Lake Union as they got ready for the big day. When it came time for the unveiling an emotional moment was cut a little short when Jack, one of the groomsmen, decided to play a love song on his guitar as the “soundtrack” to their first look, which turned tears into laughter. Soon afterwards we headed off to Volunteer Park and UW’s campus for photos. A few poses, some jumps, and a Gangnam Style dance off from the groomsmen and we were back to Blue Ribbon for the ceremony and reception. I’ve always remembered September to be a really good month to get married in Seattle, and this one in particular was really good. The weather had been great; lots of sun, dry crisp autumn leaves, and beautiful warm evenings. The great weather that day led into an enjoyable evening of meaningful toasts, a memorable reception, and of course some night shots to close the night. To Ling Ling and Jim and to your friends and family, congratulations on your wedding day and thank you for the honor of having me photograph. Cheers!
