I met Laila in Michigan back in 2011 when she was a beautiful bridesmaid for Jeremy and Rachael. It’s awesome to be able to also photograph her and Luke a year and half later. Their wedding was a multi-weekend, multi-ethnic, multi-city, fabulous extravaganza. The celebrations I’m sure started a long time ago, but I got to witness their pre-wedding celebration in Seattle at Volterra’s Restaurant in Ballard, and their wedding at the Red Barn Studios in Chehalis, WA. During the pre-wedding party, we were entertained by amazing food, music and belly dancing, it was basically like a mini-wedding reception. The following week I met up with the bridal party at Hotel Murano in Tacoma, WA where everyone began getting ready. We were surprised that the sun was out, especially since it’s January in Washington. Our photo session time was spent around Hotel Murano and a quick stop at the Glass Museum before we headed an hour south to Chehalis, WA for their wedding and reception. Although it began to rain when we arrived we still got some pretty awesome shots around the venue. After the ceremony, a heavy fog came through from the valley and I got to photograph one of my favorite night time shots with my speed lights picking up the fog. It was a pretty sweet way to begin the reception festivities! Laila and Luke, your wedding day(s) celebration was fantastic! Thanks so much for having me and Jason there to photograph and enjoy it with you, your family and friends. Cheers!
