October 12, 2013. Dubuque, Iowa. Amy and Nate were the 6th generation of Amy’s family to be married at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church in Monticello, Iowa. Wow! It’s really cool to think about that. The church was in the middle of acres and acres of corn fields along all sides about 45 minutes away from Dubuqe where the reception was held at the Grand River Center, overlooking the Mississippi River (you can see it above at sunset). It was a very memorable and sunny October Saturday, clear skies everywhere. We began at the newly renovated Hotel Julien (an old hotel hangout of Capone during Prohibition). Afterwards a short drive out to Wayne Zion for the ceremony, a stop at some corn fields, (which I thought Amy did a fantastic job walking around in with her red Christian Louboutin’s), and we were back to Dubuque for the party which was ushered by the amazing sunset over the Mississippi River. The next day we also got to spend a little bit more time photographing around the area before I headed back to the airport to fly home to Seattle. Amy and Nate, congratulations and thank you for your hospitality!
